The Taara Sawyer Classic

VolunteersTara loved baseball. She was the only girl on her team, the Stingrays, and in her league - earning her the nickname “Uno.” Her friends and family, who founded the Tara Sawyer Foundation, knew that a select baseball tournament was the perfect signature fundraising event to honor the memory of the gracious, talented and generous "Number 21."

Annually up to 600 youth baseball teams from surrounding states convene in North Texas for the Tara Sawyer Classic. Thousands of players, coaches, supporters and fans are involved in this tournament, held the first weekend in October. More than just your average baseball tournament, the Tara Sawyer Classic incorporates family-friendly baseball and includes character awards and player participant gifts. Proceeds from the tournament go towards our designated charities.

Tournament games are professionally managed by Texas Tournament Baseball. This respected organization manages all team registration, play and rankings.

Player with Jersey Tara Sawyer Foundation representatives look forward to greeting all players, coaches and fans at fields across the DFW Metroplex each year.
